Get bouncy hair with velcro rollers

When I was in the Philippines, I use to see my mom using a hair rollers, to have a bouncy and wavy hair because at that time there was no such thing as a curling iron. I also tried it once before but I always had a hard time using it. I can’t seems to get the right way to do it. Now since I love to have a bouncy and billowy wavy hair I decided to learn the right way to use a Velcro rollers because this is better than a curling iron and its good for my hair too.

So anyway here’s some of the techniques I learned recently from searching.

Divide your hair into several three-inch wide sections and wrap them up in large
rollers. The alternative? Dry your hair 80 percent, part it into two equal
sections at the crown, and twist into two buns secured with bobby pins (hello
Princess Leia). Blast with a diffuser until completely dry and leave in for 30
minutes, or sleep in them for stay-put style

Bamboo Shades

I think I did some upgrade to our window coverings about 2 months ago ( if I remember it right ). My husband and I both decided to have bamboo shades this time, because it will perfectly match with our new furniture’s and in the colors of the room. So far I am still enjoying it and I really love it, especially now that its blocking the sun. I know this will last for a very long time because of its quality product, and not to mention I got them for a very affordable price.

I changed my mind...

...oh yeah! I changed my mind about this blog once again. I think it was last month when I decided to make this website as my scrapping blog, but now here I am again can't seems to figure out what I am going to do with this poor blog of mine. I saw some friends who created a fashion and a shopping blog. So last night I made up my mind that I will make this blog that I can stick forever. I think I can manage to write something here that is appropriate for the new blog tittle. Well I jsut have to keep my fingers crossed that I will not be having a difficult time to find something interesting to post here. But right now I will just have enjoy the new look and the new tittle for this blog of mine.

A new Camera Instead Of a New Notebook Computer

My mom knows that I have been planning to get me a new notebook computer but since we are really in a tight budget I‘m having a hard time getting it for myself. My mom promised me when she gets a chance and has some extra money she will get me one. Actually she was going to give me a new laptop for Christmas but her budget is really slow this year, so she just give me a new camera instead. Well, its ok though cause I still have my desk top that work so good and it hasn’t given me any problem.

Busy Days

My gosh I have been so busy the past few days getting ready for Christmas day and it seems like my days have just slipped away. Its amazing how much time you can spend trying to get all your things done before the Christmas holidays show up again. Whew! because of these stressful activities that I have had I have so many outbreaks of acne which I don’t normally have. Probably the most important thing about the acne is to try to find a sure way to prevent out breaks. Well I am not really worried about it that much now because I can just tap my finger with a little acne treatment and it will be gone.

Me in a disposable diaper?

My husband sometimes is very silly because he is always laughing at me every time I rush to use the bathroom and have a hard time holding it. One time when we were going to New Orleans, every few minutes I always need for him to stop and let me use the bathroom. But the problem is that there is no where to stop and that makes him so furious, because we cannot go to our destination on time. He told me the next time that we are going to travel he wants to make sure that I get a disposable diaper, so that I wont have to bug him so much. I really don’t understand it myself why I am like this every time we are traveling. I guess I get too excited that’s why I always feel like I want to use the potty lols. Whew! I can't imagine myself wearing a disposable diaper hmm I wonder what I would look like. I hope I will never find out because I will surely be embarrass.

Its A Boy!

Last night I went to bed late because I have to finish something online. I was also hook up to this scraping thing. I decided to make a simple scrap for my sister's baby sonogram. So here it is, The baby looks so cute and I can't wait to see him soon. My sister will be due in March which is almost here. We are all excited!

Yummy Pork Afritada

Oh My gosh! Its been a while now since I did some update on this blog. Thats why I'm giving up some of my blog because I cannot keep up with them anymore. But anyway how you guys been doing lately? Well as for me here its just a usual boring day for me.

Today since I haven't been able to do some scrapping I decided to share some recipe. I was craving for pork afritada lately so I decided to cook some since my husband doesn't like to eat any meat lately. I ate it with some steamed rice and some salad. Oh gosh it was very delicious, in fact I am able to save some for today. Next time I am also thinking to cook chicken afritada. >Anyway heres the recipe for Pork Afritada.

Ingredients:

Pork cut into cube bigger than the menudo meat 2x bigger

tomatoessss plenty of them about 5 to 6 pieces seeded and diced

garlic minced

onions diced

aswete (powder version can be bought now in any asian store, dissolved in lukewarm water)

bell pepper quartered or sliced if preferred

potatoes quartered

bay leaf (1 only)

soy sauce 1 laddle only

Digital Signage

Good morning guys! How’s every doing on this cold Saturday morning? As for us here were just fine, Just woke up though. Yesterday I was so lazy, all I did was lay in bed and watch movies all day long. So today when I woke up I remember that I have a review to do about the digital signage that is expiring and I need to do it really soon. So here I am now reading and writing at the same time.

Digital signage is a form of electronic display that is installed in public spaces. Which is really a great way to advertise your products. Anna's Blog Header

This is the header I made for Anna's blog layout. She requested a scrapping style for her blog layout header. Even though I am not really good into scrapping but I am satisfied with the result for this one. It turned out good at least.

Used cds

When I arrived here from the Philippines I was really surprised how my husband was addicted to collecting different CD’s and DVD’s. He had so many of those put everywhere in boxes and we decided to look through them and sort them in different categories so that we can tell what exactly what we had. I told him many times before that he should get rid of those used cds and DVD’s because its taking up a lot of room and he never watches them anymore. But he don’t want me to throw them away because he said its like throwing money away. He was so sure that they are worth something and he was definitely right because I learn from someone that we can trade or recycle our used cds it to abundatrade.com. This is really great! now I have a way that I can get rid some of his cds. He can’t say no to me anymore because this place can accommodate me with anyway I want to do the cds. I can either trade or have them repair.

So careless of me

Good morning friends and visitors I hope that you are all having a wonderful Tuesday morning. Its nice and beautiful day outside, even though the weather is a little bit chilly. Anyway I would like to share about my funny experience the other day when I went to the store. I accidentally bang my head on the glass door because I was looking at something and wasn’t paying attention to the exit signs. My sister was laughing at me and said that’s what I get from not paying attention to where I was going. Until now my forehead is a little sore. Oh well I learned my lessons, I better watch where I am going from now on.

Hello guys! Have a nice Sunday morning! So what are your plans for today? As for me here I am spending my time online looking for some personalized gifts cause I really wanted to finish my Christmas shopping early. I know I still have a lot of time to do it all, but I don‘t want to have it all to do right at Christmas time. Plus I still have to wrap the presents so that I can put them under my tree. So anyway I have to get going and finish all the things I have planned for today.

Yes I am finally able to install this layout. I have been wanting to change this blog, since I am motivated to continue my scrapping that I neglected. Actually I started to practice scrapping 2 years ago but I stop. So from now on I am going to post my scrapping creation to this blog, but I am still going to share some of my favorite recipe here. Appointment to chat

Good morning guys how are you all doing this cold morning? Me here I’m still sleepy, but I decided to get up early because me and my friend fe in las vegas has an appointment to chat online today since it has been over 4 months that we have talked. I was very happy when she called me the other day and ask how I was doing because it has been a while since she haws heard from me. So today we planned to catch each others online so that we can talk. Well she has become so busy with her work and me on the other side was busy too doing blog layout, but I can always take time to talk to her but she wasn’t online. So right now I am waiting for her to come online. I am excited cause I really miss her so much. Fe and I become good friends since we meet each others during our medical exam in St. Lukes. And from that day on we tried to keep in touch with each others.

Still can't think

Yesterday I was going to change my blog layout here but I completely forgot it. I was enjoying watching my TFC show while dropping at the same time. So today I might going to change my layout here cause I am a bit tired of it. I am also going to change the blog tittle but I still can't think of a good blog tittle for this blog that I can keep up with. Oh well I know eventually i could think one.

They Finally Got To Moved

When I talk to my friend Rea last night on the phone she was really glad and happy that they finally got to move to their new place in Oklahoma. She was really surprised how cold the weather is, compared to where she came from. Cause we all know Hawaii weather is a lot warmer than any other parts of the US. But what makes her happier is that they are able to get new discount furnitures. So it means they don’t have to spend as much money as they thought they would, cause they had to buy everything new, since they moved from Hawaii. So anyway I am also happy for her and in about two weeks they will be visiting here in Louisiana, so I am really excited to see her once again.

My scrapping

This is the simple scrapping I made for Lainy as my virtual gift on her birthday. I am really glad that she really like it even though it is just plain and simple.

Kitchen Faucets

Every time we visit my sister’s place I always noticed how old her kitchen faucets and it leaks when you turn it on. It really needs to be replaced, so I thought I would get her a new kitchen faucets set for Christmas. I think this would be a great idea for a Christmas gift and it really isn’t that hard to change, since my husband knows how to do this type of pluming work. I’m sure that we can get everything we need at faucet.com for an affordable price and a good quality product. So I can’t see anything wrong with getting my sister a new faucet for Christmas. The god thing about it is something she can use.

Pinakbit

When my sister visited me last weekend she bought me a better melon, eggplant, Chinese tangkong vegetables. I was very happy because she gave it to me for free. So the other day I decided to cook a pinakbit since I also have some of the ingredients. Umm It was really yummy. I also mix it with shrimp paste and pork. I thought hubby will eat some of these but he didn't because he doesn't like the smell of the shrimp paste and he hates the taste of the better melon right now. So I end up eating this food for 3 days cause I don't want to just trow it away since it was still good. Well it was a good Idea to put it on our fridge and just heat it up when I'm ready to eat. It save me a lot of time as well to cook . So do you want some of my pinakbit?

By the way to those who don't know what the pinakbit is. It is a favorite traditional Philippine dish -- a blend of several bitter and sweet vegetables.

Appetite Suppressant

Birthday Surprised

Yesterday we went to my parent's in-law for my father in-law's surprised birthday. Its was really fun because he didn't have any idea that it was his birthday. When we started singing a happy birthday to him and handed his birthday present he was really surprised. So I must say that the birthday surprised was really a success. I am also glad to see that my husband ate a lot and thats really a good thing for me since he don't really eat that much lately. I know that he is really trying to eat a lot cause he wants to gain back his weight, but no matter how he tries he cannot eat like it used to.

Baby Bedding

My sister was starting to look for baby bedding but since the doctor said that there is still a possibility that her baby’s gender will change, so she is still waiting to find out for sure. That’s why she can’t really decide and start buying things for her baby. She really still hopping that she will have a baby girl this time. We keep telling her not to expect too much because it will only lead her to disappointments and no matter what her baby’s gender is, it doesn’t matter as long as they are healthy. That’s the most important thing of all.

Thingking of changing the tittle of this blog

Now I know what color and design I want for this blog, I am now confused what would be a good tittle for this. Since I already decided that I am going to post all my scrapping on this blog, I really wanted to change the tittle from La Cusina to something more reliable. Yesterday I spent the whole day thinking about what design I could do for this blog. I am really trying my best to update more on this blog so that my visitors won't get bored here. Blog Make Over

When I started blogging a year ago I also learned how to do scrapping, But I was not totally good at it yet. Now since I have multiple blogs and I cannot post recipe all the time for this blog, I decided to change this blog into a scrapping blog, cause I want to post all the scrapping that I am going to make in her. Spending time looking at pictures in friendster

Do you know long I have been awake? Well I woke up at 6:30 in the morning and went directly to my friendster account and didn’t realize that it was close to 8:00AM . I was just enjoying viewing my friends pictures during their Vegas vacations. I think its their 3rd time visiting Vegas for a vacation and I am wishing to really be able to visit Las Vegas one day because there are so many beautiful places you can see and lots of activities that you can do. For sure having a vacation there its really worth the money. Well I know one day my friends will be looking at my pictures of Las Vegas vacation. I hope it will happen soon.

The cucumber made my eyes worse

We all know that they say that cucumber is a natural remedy to help relax your eyes after a very tiring day. So the other night before going to bed I put cucumber on my eyes to help relax them, but instead of helping my eyes it seems to have made them worse. I woke up yesterday morning with teary and red eyes. I was in shock and scared when I look in the mirror and seen my eyes . I was very sensitive to lights as well, so I have to wear sunglasses inside the house. Its weird isn’t it? Lols! Good thing I always have eye drops in my medicine cabinets and it really helps a lot. Now the redness of my eyes is almost gone, thankfully. I can really tell the difference between yesterday and today.


So today I can sit here on my computer without bothering my eyes so much. I can now also take my time to learn more about cpm. I was going to investigate it more yesterday but my eyes were so blurry and I couldn’t see very well. Thank God I can do it now. So guys I have to get going now and start doing my task. I miss hanging out with her

My husband and I are not going grocery shopping today, since we went last week and decided to shop for two weeks, so I am free today. I guess I can call my sister in-law this afternoon to let her know that I can go with her to shop for dog supplies. She ask me the other day that she is going to take me if I have time this weekend. So I guess today is the best day to go. Since I have nothing to do anyway.

I am glad that she ask me to go with her since I miss hanging out with her. The last time that we hangout together was when my husband was still in the hospital. I hope we are going to enjoy our shopping trip later.

Bad News

Hey guys how are you all doing this morning? As for me I’m doing really great. I just got done installing the layout for Lisa’s other blog. I woke up early this morning so that I can finished it quickly because hubby and I were supposed to be going to the grocery store. But something happen to his car, the auto belt broke and the bad thing about it is there‘s only one belt for everything. So instead of going to the grocery store today he has to call his brother in-law and find a belt at the auto parts store. I hope the car will be fix soon because it very inconvenient to get everything done without a vehicle. The main problem is its very hard to find the right part because it is an older vehicle. So I’m just crossing my finger and hoping we will be able to find the part quickly.

Sending A Balikbayan Box

When I talk to my sister yesterday she was telling me about getting some more toys for our balikbayan box. I was not able to send it yet because joy my sister said she still has something to add to the box. I hope she can get it soon so that we can send the box to PI. Our family will definitely love all the things we bought for them. I am also glad that I finally am able to send them something for the coming Christmas. The best thing about sending a balikbayan box to the Philippines is that we can reuse all the old toys and old clothes that my nephew doesn’t use anymore but are still in good condition. I am also giving up some of my clothes that don’t fit anymore, my cousins will definitely appreciate all these clothes.

Now that my sister is pregnant, sooner or later I know that she is going to need a new stroller. I remember before when we found out that she was pregnant with my nephew Charles I got very excited.

Because she had been here in the US for only a year and she already found a greet career. She looks so sophisticated and professional looking on her suit. It's been a while

Howdy to all! its been a while since I have written something on this blog. I was going to post some of the recipes I just discover recently but I haven’t got a chance. I hate Acne

I really don’t understand why every time I have my period I always experience having acne. Even though its not that bad but I still don’t want to have it. Renewing my passport

I am now in the process of renewing my passport. Since I can’t go back home to the Philippines to have my passport renewed. Oh well, its not really necessary to travel thousands of miles just to have my passport renewed, but it would be really great to be able to have a vacation to my home land, as well.

So anyway the husband told me just to go online and search for the quickest and easiest way to have my passport renewed. So that it wont cost me too much because he needs also to have his passport renewed since we forget to do it 5 months ago.

Yay! I am so glad that I am finally able to do my chores. Even though that I am not feeling good today but I still manage to clean our kitchen and change the bed sheets. Filipino Leche Flan Recipe

Preparation time: 30 minutes

Estimated cooking time: 1 hour

Leche Flan Ingredients:

1 can (390g) evaporated milk
*

1 can (390g) condensed milk
*

10 egg yolks
*

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract or lemon essence

For the caramel:

*

1 cup sugar
*

3/4 cup water

Leche Flan Cooking Instructions:

*

In a saucepan, mix the sugar & water. Bring to a boil for a few minutes until the sugar caramelize.
*

Pour the caramelized sugar into aluminum moulds - you can use any shape: oval, round or square. Spread the caramel on the bottom of the moulds.
*

Mix well the evaporated milk, condensed milk, egg yolks and vanilla by hand or blender.
*

Gently pour the mixture on top of the caramel on the aluminum moulds. Fill the moulds to about 1 to 1 1/4 inch thick.
*

Cover moulds individually with aluminum foil.
*

Steam for about 20 minutes OR
*

Bake for about 45 minutes. Before baking the Leche Flan, place the moulds on a larger baking pan half filled with very hot water. Pre-heat oven to about 370 degrees before baking.
*

Let cool then refrigerate.
*

To serve: run a thin knife around the edges of the mould to loosen the Leche Flan. Place a platter on top of the mould and quickly turn upside down to position the golden brown caramel on top.

You can tell when the Leche Flan is cooked by inserting a knife -if it comes out clean, it is cooked.
